Meet The Indigo Spa Staff

We’d like to formally introduce you to our talented staff at The Indigo Spa at Hilton Head Health.

Administrative Staff:

Kelly Perron

Title/Position: Spa Manager
Education: Bachelors of Applied Arts Degree from Central Michigan University with a double concentration in Commercial and Community Recreation and a minor in Management.
Background/Experience: Kelly has worked for Hilton Head Health since June 2011. She was hired as a Guest Services representative but also held the positions of Housing Coordinator and Guest Relations Manager. With the opening of The Indigo, Kelly has transitioned into the role of Spa Manager. She could not be more excited to be a part of this team and help open The Indigo.

Sarah Baker

Title/Position: Spa & Retail
Education: Bachelors degree Nutrition/Dietetics from Kent State University
Background/experience: Sarah is from Ohio and has been with H3 since September 2013. She’s currently the Guest Services Supervisor.

Shannon Cronin

Title/Position: Spa Coordinator
Education: Bachelors of science in Human Services with a minor in Psychology
Background/Experience: Shannon has worked for Hilton Head Health since January 2015. She was born in Maryland and has lived on Hilton Head for nineteen years with her family. Shannon is excited to be a new member of Hilton Head Health’s team and thrives to create the ultimate guest experience at the spa.

Massage Therapists and Estheticians: 

Heidi Brandt

Title/position: Massage Therapist (MT)
Education: University of Nebraska at Kearney and Myotherapy Institute Lincoln
Certifications: NCBTMB (National Certification) ACE Personal Training Certification, Hilton Johnson Wellness Life Coach License
Background/experience: Heidi has been in the wellness industry for 16 years. She’s spent the last 10 years in the Berkshires of Western Mass at Canyon Ranch, Cranwell Golf Resort and Kripalu in management and hands on as a therapist, trainer and life coach. Heidi also shares tips on Neuromuscular Massage Therapy (NMT) techniques with our Guests during scheduled lectures.

Melissa Chambers

Title/Position: Esthetician/Massage Therapist (She’s almost there!)
Education: B of A from Indiana University, Esthetics (Valedictorian) and Massage School at South Carolina Massage & Esthetics Institute and International Spa Institute
Certifications: Red Flower – Aromatherapy, Microdermabrasion, Chemical Peels, Galvanic, Ultrasonic, hydrafacial, Brazilan waxing; Certified Esthetics Instructor; Intro level Thai Massage Certification; Naturopathica, and Skin Authority
Background/Experience: Melissa is originally from Terre Haute, IN and has lived in NYC & Las Vegas. She has been an esthetician for nearly 8 years, (hopefully will be a LMT a by the time this biois printed!) She has worked at the Marriott, Ahh Green Spa (lead Esthetician and Spa Manager) and Faces. Here at H3, Melissa leads lectures to educate Guest on the best ‘take home’ skincare practices.

Meredith Ore

Title/Position: Licensed Esthetician
Education: Esthetics Miller-Motte Technical College [presidents list and graduated 2nd in my class] Early Childhood Education from Cape Fear Community College
Certifications: Microdermabrasion certified; Brazilian wax certified; Product line certifications: L’Athene, B. Kamins, OSEA, Dermalogica, Eminence, Red Flower, Naturopathica, and Skin Authority
Background/experience: Meredith held the title of Lead esthetician & Spa Manager at the Hilton Head Marriott Resort & Spa since 2008. She earned the associate of the year award in 2012. She was an Esthetician at Le Spa in 2007 and also works as an Esthetician at Hampton Lake Spa.

Christy Walker

Title/Position: Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT)
Education: BS in Exercise Physiology with a concentration in Fitness Management, minor in Business from University of South Carolina, Aiken
Certifications: Massage Therapy Certificate from South Carolina Massage and Esthetics Institute, National Board Certified LMT, Compassionate Touch Practitioner, Certified in Red Flower,CPR/First Aid Certified
Background/experience: Christy has been a Licensed Massage Therapist for 8 years; working in a variety of settings from spas, hospice, and in-home massage. She truly loves the work that she does!

Laura Miess

Title/Position: Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT)
Education: Bachelor’s of Science in Studio Art
Certifications: 200-hour yoga teacher certification, National Massage Certification from Dovestar Holistic Institute
Background/experience: Laura taught massage at Dovestar, shortly after receiving her certification. She has been an LMT for 11 years. It was Laura’s creative spirit and her passion for a holistic lifestyle that originally lead Laura to massage therapy. She has extensive Lymphatic Drainage training and is fluent in a wide variety of other modalities including: Myofascial release, Craniosacral Therapy, and Neuromuscular. Laura prides herself on never doing the same massage twice because “every body is different in every moment”.

Catie Mengel

Title/Position: Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT)
Education: South Carolina Massage and Esthetics Institute
Certifications: Reiki LVL 1, Ashiastsu Barefoot Massage, Scar Tissue Therapy, Bone Tissue Therapy and a Class in lumbar spine conditions.
Background/experience: Catie was born and raised in the low country. Since graduating in 2009, she was blessed to discover how passionate she was about helping others through bodywork. Relieving chronic pain and correcting muscle imbalances holds most of her interest but she also loves being able to help people relax and melt into the table.

Maureen Hueyo

Title/Position: Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT)
Education: Educating Hands School of Massage
Certifications: Holistic Health Counselor, Certified Yoga Instructor
Background/experience: Maureen is originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has been a Massage Therapist at H3 since 2005. She began her holistic journey at 19 where she earned her degree from Educating Hands School of Massage in Miami, FL. Her passion for helping people and deepening her knowledge continues; throughout the years she has been trained in diverse techniques that now combine into a unique massage customized for her guests’ particular needs. Her favorite part of her job is being able to not only witness but be an aid in people’s journey to better health.

Carey North

Title/Position: Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), Neuromuscular Therapist (NMT)
Education: The DoveStar Institute
Certifications: Neuromuscular Therapy, Hot Stone Therapy, Kriya Massage, NCBTMB Certified, Red Flower
Background/experience: Originally from Virginia, Carey has lived on the Island since 1998 and has worked as a massage therapist for the last ten years. She graduated from the DoveStar Institute on Hilton Head Island which taught the art of Kriya Massage. Kriya Massage is often referred to as a “bodywork dance” in which the practitioner creates their own “artistic movement”and massage style unique to each client. During this dance, there are many different modalities incorporated into a session including: swedish, neuromuscular, trigger point, acupressure, yoga and myofacial manipulations. He believes that massage therapy is a necessary way to not only relieve stress but to maximize the benefits of any personalized health and wellness experience.

Lisa Kersey

Title/Position: Lead Massage Therapist (MT)
Education: Graduate of Dovestar institute for MT, Bachelor of Science in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management from Clemson University, Graduate Studies in Physical Therapy (PT) from Valdosta University
Certifications: Kriya Massage, Neuromuscular Massage, Trigger Points, Myofascial Release, Reflexology, Therapeutic/Sports Massage, Stone Therapy, Chair Massage, Deep Tissue, Colon Hyrotherapy and Andreiki Master
Background/experience: Lisa has 9 years of experience as a MT. She brings 6 1/2 years experience from the Marriott Resort and Spas as their lead massage therapist, and 5 years as an MT with Wellness Solutions DC under Dr Washack. She also worked with Colorewerks Salon and Bodywerks, and Dovestar Institute as an MT and instructor at both locations. She served 2 years as a PT aide with Folkston Hospital Advance Rehabilitation Clinic.
